The reason I bought the gypsy was that my design studio is not compatible with my Mac so is unused. So happy to be able to get something that I can see to create my designs. Like all other commentators I am very happy to be rewarded with something free from Provo Craft. Thank You from Me. I would love to if possible! I love this concept and have always been a CDS person. I never enjoyed the G since the screen is so small and really looking forward to using the new online software. It looks fabulous! Nadia, yes I agree about screen size, when designing it helps so much to have a good-sized work space. I can hardly wait until this software is available! I have a Gypsy now and love it… but having a full size screen to work with will be fabulous!
It basically is a tool that allows you to design and create on a computer screen. It will work similar to the online version, but will also have some extra features.
It sounds great, but will it really be FREE? Will the downloadable version still be free, or will there be a charge for it? I am a new Cricut user and excited to do more with it.
Since I have experience with Adobe design products I prefer designing on the computer rather than at the machine!
If I have this figured out corectly, it seems that this would work exactly like your Gypsy, but with a much larger screen.

I think the free download will make so many people happy, but if there is one available with a download, I will definitely want to purchase it! I am so happy I bought my Imagine and Gypsy, especially since the latest update Cricut released yesterday.
I just got a Design Studio up and running with my new Expression. One thing bad is the waiting each time for it to load, so I am looking forward to trying Craft Room. I have been a Provo Craft and Cricut fan since the first Cricut was released 5 years ago. I currently own 2 expressions, a gypsy,an Imagine, and over cartridges. I like the idea of the software being compatible with all of the machines, but I do not like the fact that you have to be online in order to design.
This limits me and I would much rather have an updated Design Studio software program that I can run anywhere I travel. If you are not intending to make a stand alone software program then please consider updating the Gypsy to have all of the same capabilities as the Craft Room and make it work seamlessly with the Imagine.
It is nice to see that Provo Craft is busy developing and creating new tools, but I would love to see Provo Craft support the products that are currently on the market…the Imagine was promoted as a great new tool that would work with the Gypsy…. I am still waiting over 6 months now for that to become a reality. Should I be taking the DS back or keeping it and using it at this point? I was just about to purchase design studio, but after i saw this craft room thing, i am not sure. I work in Photoshop daily and am excited about the possibilities CCR will offer to scrapbookers.
Looking forward to trying it out! Like the idea of having the large screen of my laptop to work off of. I assume you will need a usb cord to connect your lab top to your cricut machine, are they going to be readily available and reasonably priced?
You have to rely on having internet access AND being able to either have a gypsy OR connect your whole computer to the cricut. For those of us with space issues, or not having amazingly big scrap rooms, this is horrid. Will it? Is there an ulterior motive here for all cricut users to connect?
I also have reservations about CCR being on-line. Websites freeze and crash, and I would not be happy if that occurred while cutting on an expensive piece of paper! I am happy to purchase an improved program if it were made available. What I want is an updated Design Studio that does the things they are putting into CCR plus give us the ability to cut using True Type Fonts, custom designed images not included on a cartridge sometimes I just need a shape…a simple shape, like a tree and most Cricut images are stylized and not necessarily what I want at the time.
I have a cub scout and want to use scouting shapes, so being able to use a third party program has been the answer for what Cricut lacks.
Would love to see aspects of third party integrated with DS, but unfortunately Provo Craft wants the third party softwares to go away. I understand their reason, but being able to only use the cutter with only their cartridges is limiting to my needs. This is why I will probably replace my Cricut with another cutter when it eventually dies.
I can only hope that CCR is over-the-top amazing! My imagination goes way beyond the cartridges and I want to express that through my art and scrapping.
I do use cartridges…currently own 35 and growing. I have The DS and it keeps crashing or the files corupt, but not all the time, so I am hoping that this works, I wonder of we will be able to swap cutfiles like we do with the DS. Very excited. They will end up bankrupting these third party companies. Sad when all they were trying to do is make the Cricut experience even better. As one person commented above, we want to use all of our True Type fonts and create our own designs.
I own two Expressions and close to 50 cartridges but I still want the freedom to make my own designs. I also agree with what one poster up here asks….
I have the software now but really would love to have this tool. Since I already have Design Studio I am interested in software that is faster and automatically updates new carts. I will probably download this program. I am glad that you finally come out with a software program like this because my family a Mac computer.
I use to have the expression and used the design studio every time I cut anything. I decided to buy the new Imagine and was very disappointed to hear I could not use the design studio with it. Even though I do have the gypsy. So when I heard that you were coming out with an online design studio I was very happy and when I found out that it was going to be free I was ecstatic about it. Thank you. Mat too small. I have cds and love it. Cheaper then boxed or packaged cartridges? Then we would not have to drag all those boxes and papers everywere.
All cartridges will come with automatic registration so you all will know what we bought and did not for any future problems. Thank goodness I was worried. I thought it might get phased out as well and I love DS and want you to continue to update it. I too love my cricut, but if they mess with my being able to use that 3rd party……. Fine control with the stylus is almost impossible. I would love to see Provocraft develop a way to use their cutting machines with a computer without the restrictions of using cartridges.
Instead of fighting these companies producing design software they would attract more buyers if they developed their own. I know a lot of consumers here in the uk are turning to independant cart free cutters. Provocraft you are missing a trick here. Sounds great.
Do you link your cartridges to your computer, or do you have to have the jute box? Can you design, then transfer it to your gypsy? Like the Gypsy or is it more like the Design Studio were you just tell it what you have?
If they do link does that mess with placeing them on a gypsy? Any range of when this will be available? I think this is about the best innovative software that Cricut has designed. To offer it to your customers for free is saying a lot! Thank you Provo Craft! It would be great if it allowed some personal design along with the cartridges, that way we could personalize our projects some.
I enjoy all of my cartridges but sometimes I just want to add a little something different. I have a question is Provo planing on using our rewards points to insure we have the cartridge? If so I purchased several cartridges before the rewards points started.
And I lost one of my reward point paper before I was able to imput it so what do we do? Great news!!!!!! When will it be availiable and where do I sign up for it???? Cricut Junkie…. I have the expression and Imagine and love working with both machines. Do I go to Cricut. Anyone know when in April it is coming out? What about those on dial-up? What about those who use it in places that internet is not accessible. What a joke! What gives with that? You can now get designers for free. No thanks to that. I agree I will not be using this, It still limits us in what we can do with our Cricut.
I do not want to connect to the internet every time I want to try to design any thing. Love the ability to take Lap top and go!! I purchased them, That is why I never purchased a Gypsy. They still have control over my cartridges That I pay for.
I am currently saving for a different cutter, Then I will not be held prisoner by PC. The CCR still does not go far enough to allow users to create and cut anything they want, anytime they want. It still limits users to the cartridge designs and to the availability of an internet connection.
ProvoCraft should have worked with the 3rd party software companies to truly give consumers what they the consumers want. Then I found MTC and my creativity knew no bounds. Well…this is all well and good but what do I do with the software I purchased! I may or may not try the website since I do have the design studio software. My daughter will not be happy to hear about this since she just purchased the design studio.
If we have to register our cartridges, what happens if we want to later sell them or give them to someone? Sometimes you buy a cartridge for a particular use and then no longer need it. If it is linked to the CCR can it be unlinked at a later date? How will I loan them to my friends for a one-time use? We want to use our own designs and true type fonts. The new designs are not to my taste at all!!! In the mean time I am keeping a journal of all my ideas to scrapbook when I get a different machine, or when Cricut finally comes out with a design software that allows me to make the scrapbook pages I see in my head.

It is absolutely worthless. It takes forever to load and then when I go use it, it is slow and usually jams on me. Being able to use my own fonts made me feel like I was in heaven.
Then I did a trial with MTC and fell in love all over again. We are limited to your creativity, not our own. Somehow, it makes my Expression cut better than it every has. Anyone who uses CCR has to have their heads examined. Provo craft, I really truly hope you can be big enough to admit you made a serious mistake by suing. Let me understand your issue. I see that can be a problem. If you only have a MAC, use a Gypsy. Those options have been available to you for quite some time.
Why are you complaining that there is nothing for you? You are crazy. No one wants to invest in reverse technology. The Dinosaur products are there for you: Design Studio and Gypsy. Use them and stop complaining. I look at this as just another option. I gypsy everywhere, finally something to occupy my time when waiting. Love it!! Gee whiz …. Provo Craft is a little slow on many things,,,, but how can you dis this product before it you even try it? Carmen, there is a point. With this software, you load the cartridges only once.
They are stored and available with a mouse click. Without it, you have to load a cartridge every time,,,, or connect unending chains of juke boxes. It is quite a difference. The program is free. All these complaints about them being expensive? Not true. However, I see this as an effort to support their customer base, and I am anxious for it to be active.
You people are going to eventually work yourselves out of business. This will be a great thing for me. Free also adds to the greatness of it. I hope to visit quite often. I thought this was going to be something great, but after looking at some of the comments, I have mixed feelings. It sounds like there are issues! According to Cricuts FB page, they have been inviting a few 1, people at a time to begin using Craft Room. Monitoring how much traffic it can take. Very smart.
The cranky cricketeers will ruin all the fun. Seems like they are going to a lot of trouble and expense to offer this free product. I watched a video and they seemed to be putting in some sort of password, etc. Where does this come from. Also you stated the software will be out in April. Do we have to buy the software? I am a brand new Cricut user, and own the v1, so I am very excited to see everything the Cricut craft room can do for me! Looking forward to this tool. Not impressed by what I saw in the video. I have never found much of anything I would cut on a Cricut cartridge and only bought my machine after SCAL offered me the opportunity to design and cut my own files. CCR still limits a persons creativity — you can only cut images created from Cartridges that you own. And, then, according to how I understand the terms of use, PC would own the rights to my creation.
I can hardly wait to able to use this. I was not going to purchase the new cricut but now…. I particularly like the fill feature and hope that it works well with my other cartridges.

PC can turn around, take your design, and sell it as a cartridge to thousands of people. I just used CCR for the first time, and I was so excited. I had the options set for my old baby Bug, and hit CUT. Hi YA! Ok First Is this out yet? I cant find it on the net! I have A Cake and a CE both i use all the time. I live in New Zealand so getting any cricut stuff is really expensive and time consuming. I understand the software is free to use but lets say I want to use a design that is not on my cartridge, do I have to pay for the design I pick from CCR or will that be free as well, and can I upload it to my Gypsy?

I am really confused. Is there something to download? Just cant wait to be able to use this software very exciting,please hurry and get it to us over in the Uk. But I believe the beta download is on the Cricut website? I was really excited about this, but to have MY images become property of Cricut????????? Keep the program and make it downloadable to ones computer BUT make the cartridges available on line to also download for a faction of the retail price. GEEZ, my daughter bought the design studio for me this past Christmas! Hopefully when I get it down pat we might be able to update it online? Is anybody listening??? Can anyone who has access say how long the waiting list is? Should I wait or just purchase the DS software so that I can get started? They have good products just need to be better on customer service. Where, oh, where, can the CCR be, Where, oh, where, can it be?
I have waited so long, This is just so wrong! Somebody, please, answer me?! How could one leave a message about a online site that will not give access to use it. We are almost in the middle of the month of May and still no way to use the craft room and I have noticed on some of the women are getting the to rooms confused.
The Circle of Friends you have to pay and pay a lot of money I would never pay for that and then the other is the Cricut Craft Room. The other would be to purchase from the craft room. I wish they would have it where you pay a certain amount for the article your working on in the craft room instead of buying the whole cartridge that you might not want or use.
It might be to there benifet to offer that oppition they might make even more money off of us that way. Just like the silhouette studio has it set up. Or pay a members price at different levels offering more die cuts. That is the way to do it and it keeps one from haveing store the cartridge boxes and have to buy a binder to hold the over lays and booklets etc… I wish at this point more than anything they would just let us on to try it already.
The second point would be I wish they had surveyed what the cricut customers would like they said they did for the Cricut Expression 2 limited edition. Well, I must say it is some what disappointing that the Cricut Craft Room is not available yet.
However at the same time, I fully understand how development of software is and that most of the time, it is a wild stab in the dark as to when a program will actually be completed. As I have heard many times in my career as a programmer, the key to keeping the customer happy is communicating with them what is going on. Provo Craft has left us sitting in the dark for 2 weeks now, with no communication as to the progress or a new estimated completion date…some type of communication would be nice.
Is there a new release date for Cricut Craftroom? Why is Provocraft not responding to all the questions regarding the availability for the CCR? Need to learn the Gypsy! Not only is the Cricut Craft Room late at being launched, but the design center was supposed to become compatable with the Imagine soon after it was launched. Still waiting! This is going to be awesome will it be ready soon? I want more things to use my 3 machines for. I just got the gypsy and the cricut 2 is great. So very anxious to be a part of all the great things being offered to all of us Cricut Lovers. I am still thinking about buying software.

I have tried over and over to access it, but it will not recognize my email login. Any solution? Will this replace Design Studio which I was going to rebuy after a computer crash took my copy?

Also I have another question….. My friends and I are doing a scrapbook for a friend of ours who is has been diagnosed with inoperatable brain cancer. We have been trying to get this cartridge at a reasonable price and we only find it on Ebay selling for anywheres from I know you have to buy the pink expression to get this however, we all have cricuts and expressions so we dont need another machine.
We were hoping that you would re-consider and make this cartridge available and give the proceeds from this cartridge to the Cancer Society. I think I was mislead by the hype. I think it is terrible that I and many, many, many other people cant get into the craft room program. I have 2 cricut machine, cricut design and I just absolutely love them. That is ridiculous why put out a machine people cant use. I cant believe the provo company would do something so stupid.

I suggest you work on that before you make any more new products. If it works, it would cause people to go out and buy your products. Has anyone else had problems getting into the Craft room? I have tried for months to get into the craft rm. At this point it is by invitation only. Provo Craft says it is still being tested??? I would love to get into the Cricut Craft Room to try it out.

In addition, is this access going to eliminate the need for people to purchase the cartridges? It might appear that could be the case. I can not get in i do not understand i wach this veido i did everthing right did not work i need help to get it working i got it from cricut. I think this is a lot like the design studio i could be wrong but i think they should allow us to design our own images to cut. When i first got my cricut I didnt have any kids but now i have 2 and one on the way and i just cant afford to buy cartridges which even with this program you still need them.
I think that it is just si neat that you will be able to do all of those things with cricut crafts room is the a place you have to go to get the software from. I have put it on both of my computers and it seems to run pretty smooth.
My question is ….. How do I put my carts from my Gypsy to craft room? I have a lot. Is there a manual somewhere? And does it disable my carts on Gypsy. I still like its mobility. What kind of cart. I love my cricut and related products. I really wish CCR had the ability to let us make our own designs.
I would be willing to pay an annual membership fee to make my own designs. Make it affordable and sell more product! I have the Cricut Craftroom on my computer and have been using it for some time.
Now when I go to use it I get a message that says I need to update my firmware. I followed the directions and even repeated them and I still get a message that my update failed. I cannot use the program if I cant update my firmware. Anybody have any suggestions? In all the blurb about CCR it mentions being able to get digital cartridges, can anyone tell me how do we get them? Also can the digital cartridges from the gypsy be used with other cricut machines.
Hi All I have now bin on the craft room it looks good. I have cut with my miagin and have had now problems. I am having problems with layering. For example if you get your image at 3, when you get the layers, they come out bigger than the base image and you have to manually sized it to the base, when you do a cut from your machine and set to a size everything cuts to fit….
Anyone knows what to do? I tried a video instruction I saw in YouTube and was doing it with the lady, and still did not work for me. Hi Elsie I havent Tried to do that with this craft room. I will have a go. If you have a gypsy it may work. Then you marry up the second layer on top and pick one section on it and in larg it slowly to what you think is ok. If you have three peaces in one peaces just pick one in the three and the others will marry up fine.
I used my cricut. Ive tried several times and then tried different days. Sincerly,Alina from Battle creek MI. Is cricut planning on coming out with any software similar to sure cuts alot or makes the cut that would allow users to create their own images for cutting using scale rather then using only cricut cartridge images as a base? How do you cut the layers, it seems everything is cut real size. It is too time consuming layering them manually to cut. The extra processing speed improved the download to the Cricut.
I have been very happy with the duo ever since. I also use the Juke Box and several cartridges so I can eaisly go from one cartride to other with no prob;em. Love CraftRoom! This would be extremely valuable! I still cannot login to the craftroom. So now I will have to return it.

All my cartridges are linked to my Gypsy. I am chomping at the bit to be able to link them to CCR!! Do you have any kind of a time line for that major improvement? I have been trying to figure this out all day! I thought I was going crazy because it clearly says you can link your Gypsy to CCR, but I have found no information on it.

The Cricut Bridge application has unexpectedly quit. Cricut CraftRoom must close down now. You may try and re-launch Cricut CraftRoom. If this problem persists, please contact customer support. I have vista home basic, adobe air is correct installed, my internet connection is about kb. Tracie — did you ever get it figured out? I just opened my Imagine and have tryed all day to get the word CLASS of all things to work on and nothing will — so frustrating.
I didnt no that the imagine didnt weld words together either — I have the cake cricut and love it — hard to use because your dealing with fondant but so much eaiser then this one — just wanted to no if you had got yours to work with the craft room…thanks! I just want to use the darn thing!!! This is a huge defect in the system. It worked before I tried Craft Room. Love the idea but it would be nice if it actually worked. HUGE waste of time. Why are there so many disconnects? I had the same problem and am a first time Cricut user.
I then downloaded a trial to the DesignStudio and it changed the firmware from 1. I had this same issue and it is very frustrating. I saved my work, exited the program, and then went back in and was able to click on cut.
It also gave me the error that I needed to insert the cartridge into my expression, which it already was. So I just pushed down on the cartridge very lightly and it recognized it. Like I said, I just exit and go back in. Anyone know what cartridges are free with Cricut Craft Room? I know the Cricut Craft Rooms Basics is free, but I thought there were two free cartridges when you downloaded the software. Anyone know what the other one is? She said it is not necessary to hook your jukebox into your computer.
Your cartr. Too bad. Maybe just for small familiar projects. Also the Cr by passes the prompts on our machines. I think I will learn more about the machines and why I have mechanical problems before I try to tackle the CR. But wow! I love the welding and sizing of letters. Was fine before the update. It will connect to the computer for updates??? Is there a way to connect gypsy to CCR and load carts from gypsy! I recommend buying your cartridges on Ebay. I am ecstatic to learn that you are offering something free to your loyal user who have invested so much in your products. I hope the Craft Room is a major improvement over design studio. I love when Provo craft listens to us and love it even more when it is free. I have spent alot of money on my little bugs and getting a freebie is a nice treat. Still waiting for the gypsy update they promised. But this helps. I use Ds for everything I cut with my cricut and I like being able it use without the internet as I am not always able to connect. I like to design and save my designs and reuse them over and over and without option with the imagine I am not able to do this. Looking forward to seeing it in action. I own the Gyspy but because the screen is so small I have trouble seeing the images.

I really hope that they will make is compatible with an I pad. From what I see it works just like the Design Studio. I have the Design Studio and thats great for looking at all the cartridges and this new craft room i will be able to see all the new imagine cartridges i dont have. The new expression 2 looks fab. I have the Expression, Gypsy and Imagine machines cricut craft room download windows 10 am waiting to see what the Expression 2 will cost before I think I need another machine!

I love this concept and have always been a CDS person. I never enjoyed the G since the screen is so small and really looking forward to using the new online software. It looks fabulous!
